Benefits & Advantages How It Works Botox® prevents signaling to sweat glands and normalizes sweat production. Results are experienced within a few days to a few weeks. A minimal pinprick in the underarm area, some patients may prefer to use a topical prior to treatment. Hands and feet are more sensitive--ice or vibration may be used to assist treatment. Downtime Normal activities can be resumed immediately following treatments. Hands may feel a temporary weakness. Treatment Time Average times: underarms – 20-minutes; hands – 40-minutes Average duration of benefit for underarms is 7-9 months. The actual vials of Botox in Canada is covered by most extended medical plans. The patient will pay for the facility fee to the doctor. A vial of Botox for medical use is $400. Underarms are generally one vial for each side. If you have a larger underarm area it may require more (1.5 to 2 vials on each side).
