The membranes of the fat cells are disrupted. The fat cell content is dispersed into the fluid between the cells and then transported through the vascular and lymphatic systems to the liver. The liver makes no distinction between fat coming from the UltraShape treatment or the fat originating from food consumption. Both are processed via the body's natural mechanisms.  The surrounding tissues and vessels in the treated area remain intact. Downtime No downtime after treatment.  Normal activities can be resumed. The Experience The procedure can take 30-120 minutes depending on area treated. Results Results may appear in 14-28 days along with a healthy diet and exercise. Expect at least  three treatments at 4-week intervals. Patient must have at least 1.5cm of fat in the area to be treated. The treatment should be combined with lymphatic drainage or deep massage to assist in the breakdown of disrupted fat cells. Results will vary. You will need to maintain a healthy diet and exercise to assist the treatment. Not ideal for overweight individuals.  It will not remove cellulite. Costs approx. $1200.00 per treatment per area. Expect at least three treatments a month apart. Lymphatic drainage (for better results) or deep massage could cost extra. Results are not guaranteed and will vary with individuals. Another focused ultrasound fat reduction machine is called UltraContour--its currently waiting  FDA approval in the US. Other countries are using the technology.
